Who is Stark Motorsports?
Stark Motorsports is a family operation.
Robert Stark has been a crew chief since 1978 for numerous Indy
Car Teams, working
with drivers such as Tony Bettenhausen, Roger Mears, Dick Simon,
Raul Boesel, Airton
Dare and John Hollingsworth. Rob was the recipient of the 1999
Indy 500
Snap-on/Championship Association of Mechanics Top Wrench Award.
Mike Stark, a veteran Los Angeles broadcaster, has covered racing
as a journalist and
produced numerous racing radio interviews and specials.
With contacts in all aspects of
media, Mike provides the team with maximum sponsor exposure.
What is the Indy Racing League (IRL)?
Formed in 1995 by Indianapolis Motor Speedway owner Tony George
in an effort to
bring down the cost of open wheel racing and a return to Indy
cars roots of oval racing.
The IRL currently runs 13 races that include events in Nashville,
Miami, Atlanta, St.
Louis, Kansas City, a night race at the Texas Motor Speedway and
the premier event - the
Greatest Spectacle in Racing, the Indianapolis 500. Drivers
currently running in the
series include former Indy 500 winners Al Unser Jr., Eddie
Cheever Jr., Arie Luyendyk
and Buddy Lazier. Team owners include former drivers Dick
Simon, Sam Schmidt and
four time Indy 500 winner A. J. Foyt.
How do I become a Sponsor and what does it cost?
There are four levels of Sponsorship depending on your marketing
needs. All
Sponsorships are for a one year period.
Total Sponsorship - offers exclusive rights and sole
identification with logos and colors
on the race car, driver and personnel uniforms and support
vehicles and equipment.
Primary Sponsorship - offers prime identification with logos and
colors on the race car,
driver and personnel uniforms and support vehicles and equipment.
Associate Sponsorship - offers prominent identification with
logos and colors on the race
car, driver and personnel uniforms and support vehicles and
equipment.
Minor Sponsorship - offers identification on race car, driver and
personnel uniforms and
support vehicles and equipment.
Sponsorship prices range from $100,000 to $10 million.
What else do I get for my Sponsorship?
With your sponsorship you also receive rights to use cars,
drivers and team personnel in
any promotional material; product endorsement by drivers and team
personnel; access to
drivers and team personnel at all IRL events and access to
drivers and team personnel at
off track events. Additional sponsorship features are
included depending on which
package you select and are customized to each sponsors unique
marketing and
promotional needs.
How does an IRL Sponsorship compare in cost and services to
other forms of
racing?
An IRL season sponsorship is approximately one-fifth the cost of
a CART and NASCAR
sponsorships and includes the biggest race in the world, the Indy
500, as part of the
package.
